This is a professional airport operations position which exercises a high level of discretion and judgment regarding a wide variety of duties both independently and supervised for all airport operations. The position exercises considerable confidential and independent decision making in response to difficult situations involving airside, landside and terminal operations. The Airport Operations Manager provides work assignments, instructions, and evaluations through observations, reports, inspections, and discussion. The primary mission of the position is compliance with Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 139– Certification of Airports, and the Airport Certification Manual.

Incumbents in this position monitor airport operations for compliance with FAA rules and Airport Authority policies and regulations to ensure safety and efficient operations. Duties include performing Airfield Operations Specialist duties and coordinating and leading Airfield Operations Specialists. Work involves shift, weekend and holiday assignments; therefore, candidates must be available for overtime, mandatory 24 hour emergency response as needed and shift work. Operations Specialist Responsible for overseeing day to day operations of a regional non-hub commercial services airport to ensure activities conform to Federal Aviation Regulation (CFR) Part 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) 1542, and Federal, State, local and Airport rules/regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management or related field. Minimum of 2 years’ current experience in operations of CFR Part 139 Airport and TSR 1542 compliance. Successfully pass a CHRC and an STA prior to hire. Prefer possession of Certified Member (CM) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), experience with Flight Training, and/or 4. Responsible for scheduling airport shared facilities and resources such as gates, aircraft parking stands, common-use ticket counters and baggage systems. Develop and maintain advanced gated flight schedules and resource allocations for air carriers by applying developed airport business rules. Function as subject matter expert and liaison regarding the scheduling of shared facilities within the airport. Serve as the system administrator for the INFORM GroundStar Airport Operations Database (AODB) and Resource Management System (RMS), which includes live and seasonal schedule environments. Develop existing RMS and AODB systems to provide capacity for future data demands and position airport to better leverage technology in the future. Provide input for the development and modification of airport resource utilization strategy. Respond to Airport emergency situations 24/7 on-call as well as serve as an active member of Snow Team, working 12 hours on, 12 hours off during snow events in an Incident Command structure.
