AIRPORTS FACILITIES MANAGER
Airports Facilities Manager - Meadows Field Airport (BFL) located in the County of Kern, centrally located in California, is recruiting for the position of Airports Facilities Manager. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer, responsible for the administration of all operational functions of the Kern County Airport System facilities inclusive of airfield pavements, clear zones, airfield lighting, airfield painting, RSAs, flight and ground instruments, and other component systems. Manages maintenance personnel in all aspects of Part 139 FAA airfield and airport facility activities, including capital project oversight, inspection, and compliance. This is a ten (10) week, temporary position that consists of on-the-job training and special projects as assigned by the Airport Director. Start date for this internship will be May 30, 2017. Duties include aiding and assisting in daily airfield operations, airport development, and the maintenance of airport facilities. Responsibilities include accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks involving written and oral reports relating to the examination, analysis, and assessment of all aspects concerning management in aviation. This internship will provide exposure to the various departments within the Manassas Regional Airport and is comprised of three management disciplines: Airport Administration, Airport Operations, and Airport Maintenance. Housing is included with the internship and provided through George Mason University summer intern housing located in Fairfax, Virginia. CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR(S) - ON CALL
Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. We are looking to hire on-call construction administrator(s) to work with our aviation group. Responsibilities include construction administration on airfield pavement and electrical systems projects; coordination of survey work and materials testing; serving as owner’s representative to monitor construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications; and assisting with progress meetings. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required. This position is part-time and will be located at various project sites around Michigan and neighboring states; it is currently an on-call (i.e., no benefits) position which could potentially be converted to a regular, benefits-eligible position.
ASSISTANT AVIATION DIRECTOR - BUSINESS PLANNING
This position directs the activities of Deputy Directors in the Business, Contracts, and Design and Construction Division areas of the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. The incumbent resolves problems and conflicts and establishes good management practices within the department. This class serves under the general direction of and in close coordination with the Director of Aviation Services. Responsibilities include managing several key functions of the Aviation Department; such as administration, business and development, financial management, capital management, and contracts and services. Duties may rotate amongst the Assistant Aviation Director’s. Day to day duties will include working with elected officials and advisory boards, managing business in a regulatory environment, and developing strategic initiatives for improved efficiency or customer service. In collaboration with the SVP of Government Affairs and the AOPA Leadership Team, develop AOPA policies and implement effective advocacy strategies on broad national or precedent setting airport and state issues. This will often include the need to coordinate the involvement and support of other AOPA resources, including federal legislative and regulatory staff, the communications and media teams, and AOPA’s legal counsel. Provide briefings and issues updates and to SVP/Government Affairs, and other AOPA Executive leadership and divisions.
