COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
The intern position is a one-year on-the-job training program in airport management. The Intern will assist with the following: Planning and day to day functions of airport maintenance and operations. Planning and administration of construction projects and contractual agreement for services on or within airport facilities and grounds. Building liaison and working relationships with the FAA, federal, state or local governmental agencies. Planning and development of commercial properties. A variety of financial and statistical reporting. Safety and security inspections including runway and taxiway surface conditions and lighting in order to assure standards for continued airport operations are met. Helps receive and respond to concerns of traveling public on matters relating to parking, traffic congestion, ground transportation, terminal conditions, etc. Aids in the initiation and preparation of budget proposals for capital expenditures or other items that may affect the capital expenditure program of the airport. Air service development and analysis.
OPERATIONS DUTY MANAGER
Conduct Part 139 and daily terminal inspections, document discrepancies and follow-up with appropriate departments to insure timely completion. Conduct daily perimeter inspections for safety and security compliance. Log discrepancies and issue work orders to insure timely completion. Responds to and assists with all Airport emergencies and security issues, including aircraft alerts and medical calls. Complete written reports on all emergencies. Maintain compliance with FAA regulations during an emergency and assist Incident Commander. Assist with the updating of certification and emergency manuals. Make recommendations for policy and procedural changes or additions and communicate them to tenants and other airport departments. Assist in coordinating tenant operational needs with appropriate airport departments. Assist with the issuance and monitoring of airport security badges. Conduct Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) and Air Operations Area (AOA) driver's training courses as needed.
SENIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL)
The City of San Jose - Mineta San Jose International Airport is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Civil). Under the direction of the Deputy Director of the Planning and Development Division for the Airport, the senior engineer position performs a variety multi-discipline airport projects and has the opportunity to lead, develop, and deliver projects in the Airport Capital Development Program of various and considerable complexities. The ideal candidate shall possess in depth knowledge in the theories, principles, practices, and techniques related to civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or geotechnical engineering, architecture, and capital project delivery. The position is responsible for coordination with Airport Divisions, airlines, and other tenants that are potentially effected by construction activities. In addition, the position will ensure Capital Project compliance Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, and other agencies that may have impacts to the projects.
