AIRPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
The Certification & Operations Division of the Santa Barbara Airport currently has an exciting opportunity for an Airport Operations Specialist. This position provides communications and dispatch functions for Airport Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) and Department personnel via radio/telephone consoles; monitors access control and CCTV systems; serves as the Airport’s central point of contact for tenants and outside agencies; and provides assistance to the Airport Operations Supervisor. Additional duties include assuring compliance with TSR Part 1542 and FAR Part 139; issuance of NOTAMs; provide quality customer service, operate CLETS database (requires certification, training provided); initiate airport emergency operations and coordinate emergency services; conduct routine inspections of all Airport facilities; conduct FAR Part 139 inspections; assist in data entry, flight tracking operations, and support of the Airport Noise Advisory Program as required; ensure all records and logs are accurate. POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, responsible for all Airport checks, inspections, security checks, communications, work order, airport security system oversight, CCTV monitoring, escort coordination and emergency response. Provide emergency and non-emergency communications response to individuals and entities that request or require support services from Police, Fire, EMS, ARFF, FBO, or Security at PSA. This internship is for the summer of 2020 and will be at least 12 weeks. Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays is required. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in airport management/administration or related aviation field or, at a minimum, be currently enrolled in a four-year degree program and have achieved at least junior status in pursuit of an aviation degree. AIRPORT MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Manages and supervises maintenance personnel. Responsible for all phases of airside and landside facilities, grounds, infrastructure, electrical and vehicle maintenance including but not limited to Part 139 items. Development, implementation and upgrading of the airport’s work order and inventory system. Preparation of work orders, inventory control, time and materials required to perform tasks. Implementation of an inventory control system. Responsible for the purchase of materials and services for the Maintenance Department. Prepares plans for upgrading current facilities and infrastructure. Provides oversight for construction and coordination of preconstruction meetings. Identification of safety hazards. Provides safety training as the Safety Coordinator.
