AIRPORT OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP
The Airport Intern must be receiving college credits & be studying in Aviation Management or a related field in order to qualify for this position The Airport Intern will join the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport team to complete a 12 week internship which covers all aspects of airport operation including wildlife and wetlands management, snow and ice removal, USDA, FAA and TSA regulations; ARFF, landside and airside operations to include line management & badging. The intern will also complete an airport related project which will be assigned based on the operational needs of the Airport. Aspen/Pitkin County Airport will select one intern for our summer season and one intern for Fall semester.

AIRPORT DEPUTY SHERIFF
The Airport Deputy is a sworn, certified peace officer, authorized to carry a firearm and make arrests with or without a warrant; enforce federal and state laws and regulations, Pitkin County ordinances, Airport Security Program requirements, and airport rules and regulations at the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport; engages in law enforcement activities, including uniformed foot, vehicle, and bicycle patrol to ensure the integrity of the commercial & general aviation environment; and does related work. Often the work is performed in a commercial aviation environment with large crowds, heavy equipment and aircraft. The Airport Deputy often works with minimal direct supervision and may be called upon to make critical decisions affecting the global aviation system. Generally, an Airport Deputy’s productivity and quality of work is measured by field inspections, case reports and daily field activity reports.
