AIRPORT INTERN Bismarck Airport (BIS), Bismarck, ND. One-year professional internship with exposure to airport operations, facilities management, and administration. Internship begins June 3, 2019. Qualified candidate will be a recent graduate (or will graduate before the start date) of an airport management degree field or equivalent, possess a strong work ethic and the initiative to carry out assignments without direct supervision. Pilot’s license and membership in AAAE desired. Computer literacy, preferably with Windows and Microsoft software a plus. Some weekend and shift work will be required. AIRPORT PLANNER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Develops and administers the Airport Master Plan to include collaborating with management and capacity enhancement programs for sustaining and improving the airport's infrastructure and facilities; analyzes regulatory and social/political constraints in airport development; reviews and comments on proposed legislation affecting airports; and assists with community presentations. Collaborates with department-wide teams on capital improvements and facilities development; oversees consultant contracts involved in airport and transportation planning, design, and construction projects. AIRPORT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR I
Under the direction of the Airport Security and Operations Center Manager, the Operations Coordinator I provides centralized security and communications oversight for the airport while working in the 24/7/365 Airport Operations Center. The primary duties of this position include monitoring surveillance cameras, access points, alarms, energy management systems, weather-related equipment, phones, and radios. AOCs assist with terminal, TSA & FAA inspections, tests and audits as well as assisting airport management on matters involving safety, security, and customer service. Acting as “Trusted Agents”, AOCs are responsible for viewing, recording, and processing background checks for airport badge holders. Promotion opportunities exist after 12 months of service.
