AIRPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
This position is a rotating shift 24-hours per day, 7 days per week. Overtime required. Shifts include weekends & holidays. Inspects airfield for compliance with FAA Parts 139, 77 & TSAR Part 1542. Conducts inspections of landside & terminal facilities. Performs wildlife control, identifies wildlife hazards & SMS functions. Responds to emergencies & responsible for making decisions & coordinating emergency response. Monitors compliance with various Federal, State & Local Laws. Inspects & monitors terminal, landside & tenant leased areas for compliance with lease terms. Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure in planning maintenance & construction as well as during emergencies. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Selection will be based upon application review and an additional skill assessment tests may be conducted, in addition to panel interview.

AVIATION PLANNER
Candidate will have a background to assist with strengthening the CAD capabilities in our growing planning practice, as well as the capabilities and desire to perform other aviation planning related tasks. Candidates should possess strong CAD skills (preferably Civil 3D) and have experience developing Airport Layout Plan (ALP) drawing sets. Full-time position with a comprehensive employee benefits package. Option of residing in one of the following offices: Syracuse (HQ), Buffalo or Albany, NY. Assignments include assisting with data collection and documentation, technical figure/drawing development including ALP drawing sets, technical report writing, planning-level cost estimating, etc. •Minimum 2 years in aviation planning. •Intermediate to advanced capabilities in AutoCad including Civil3D. •Bachelor’s Degree in planning, civil engineering or related field. •Strong graphic capabilities •Skills with GIS, SketchUp or similar 3D modeling software a plus. AVIATION PLANNER
Aviation Planning at GDA will include State System Plans, Airport Master Plans, Airport Layout Plans, Airport Terminal Area Plans, Environmental Assessments, and environmental sub-studies (like CATEXs). Required experience includes knowledge and application of all FAA guidance documents, rules, regulations, and procedures to develop full Airport Master Plans and environmental documents. The Aviation Planner will apply acquired aviation knowledge to match communities with right-sized airports. The successful applicant will have an experiential understanding of accepted data gathering and forecasting techniques, development of alternatives and opportunities, and in the development of Airport Layout Plans. A broad understanding of aviation, on and off the airport, is expected. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to lead public outreach and interaction is essential.
