EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - AEX
The England Authority is seeking an Executive Director for the England Airpark/Alexandria International Airport (AEX) to perform a variety of administrative, technical and professional work in preparation and implementation of economic development plans, programs, and airport management services for the England Authority. The Executive Director plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the work of both the Landside and the Airside divisions, and has overall administration of the aviation function of the Airpark, as well as economic development initiatives.The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, preferably with specialization in economic/community development, airport management, or business administration. Work history or training in both airport management and economic development, including administrative and oversight responsibility, is a definite plus. Equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Master’s degree preferred but not required.Posting Deadline: May 11, 2018.

OPERATIONS/SECURITY INTERNSHIP
The Colorado Springs Airport Operations/Security Internship Program is designed to introduce future airport managers to the many facets of managing and operating a Commercial Service Airport. The Intern is assigned to work under the supervision of the Airport Operations Department and will be immersed in a variety of projects relating directly to airport operations and security. The Intern will gain experience in airfield safety and inspections, emergency response, snow removal, and airfield maintenance and construction. The program lasts 1,600 Hours, with two weeks of unpaid vacation. Anticipated Start Date is June 4, 2018. Bi-weekly pay of up to $1,024 for a 32 hour work week (50 weeks) or 40 hour week (40 weeks). Assist with the development and execution of the core focuses of the high school program AOPA High School Aviation Symposium Planning, scheduling, and providing teacher professional development Recruiting and assisting high schools to implement AOPA aviation STEM curriculum Aviation STEM curriculum development Assist with communications to stakeholders to include newsletter, email updates, website content Develop and maintain online aviation teacher community Create promotional resources to assist with program implementation in high schools across the country Routinely collect and analyze metrics and data that point directly to AOPA’s impact through the high school initiative. Manage the high school flight training scholarship program
