SENIOR AIRPORT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
The City of San Jose - Mineta San Jose International Airport is currently recruiting for a Senior Airport Equipment Mechanic.This position at is responsible for providing technical assistance on the most difficult installations and repairs requiring a high level of expertise on specialized airport terminal equipment and systems, such as passenger boarding bridges, carousels and baggage conveyors (slope plate and flat plate) and ground support equipment. This senior position acts as the lead to Airport Terminal Equipment Mechanics (ATEM) and provides work direction to other classifications, such as Maintenance Workers. The incumbent is expected to provide contract administration and inspects and oversees the work performed by outside contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued development of a program designed to meet the needs of the changing Airport environment. This position requires shift work and includes weekend coverage.

Under the general direction of the County Executive, the Airport Director leads, directs, and is responsible for the overall management of the Dane County Regional Airport. This includes leadership and oversight of the business operations, administration, staffing, financial administration, community relations, government relations, marketing, air service planning and development, construction and maintenance for the airport facilities, and the safety and security of the Dane County Regional Airport.The successful candidate will have any combination of training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, airport management, public administration, aeronautical engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in airport management, airport business management, or airport operations at a FAR Part 139 commercial service airport.
