SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Law degree from an ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law school Seven years of full-time professional experience in the practice of law Admission to the Colorado Bar as an attorney in good standing IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE: Experience practicing aviation law, municipal or local government law, zoning law, commercial law, real estate law, construction and land use development law, or regulatory law Experience which demonstrates the ability to communicate and understand a wide variety of legal and business issues related to the airport industry. The Position Airport Operations Officers may be based in either Camarillo or Oxnard depending on existing business needs. Under supervision, they patrol the airports; monitor operations; provide security, safety, and emergency assistance when needed; greet, assist, and provide information to the public in the performance of routine duties and special assignments; assure compliance with airport rules, regulations, and ordinances; and perform related work as required. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in airport operations leading to a solid understanding of Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration regulations including knowledge of FAR Part 107 (small unmanned aircraft systems). A degree in airport/aviation administration/management and intermediate level skills in MS Word, Excel, and database tools are desirable.
