The City of Charlotte is seeking an Airport Business and Revenue Director to be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and reviewing the work of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s (CLT) Business & Revenue Division which consists of the Airline Affairs, Terminal Concessions, Parking and Ground Transportation and Commercial Services and Properties work groups. Master’s degree plus five years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of experience required. Major coursework in an aviation-related field, business, law, finance, public administration or related field. Experience related to airport concessions management, airport contracts, development, commercial and real estate activities, and include considerable supervisory experience. Requires successful completion of DHS Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment. Professional work coordinating public relations activities, public information releases, and developing and implementing the department’s public relations program. Serves as the primary Public Information Officer, responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the public relations and public affairs functions, including employee communications, community outreach, media relations and public information in support of the strategic objectives for PBI Airport and its three General Aviation Airports. Serves as primary contact with media and Airport Operations relating to non-emergency and emergency incidents with a strong understanding of airport emergency plans and procedures. Assists Marketing Director in all aspects of marketing, advertising, communication, public outreach and any other departmental duties assigned. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.
