Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating and participating in the maintenance and repair of the airfield electrical system, signs and lighting, pavement maintenance, perimeter fence, surface painted signs, vegetation control, SMS, and WHMP; all of which ensure FAA compliance of the airfield. Position is responsible for scheduling airfield employees to ensure adequate coverage as well as training, coaching and developing airfield staff. Position is subject to twenty-four (24) hour work availability, including shift work, weekends, holidays, emergency calls, inclement weather, and special events.

AIRPORT COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR
The Airport Compliance Coordinator participates in construction inspection and permit administration for the Ontario International Airport (ONT). Incumbents inspect the construction of a wide variety of airport and tenant improvement projects to ensure compliance with safety regulations, plans, specifications, contract documents, and legal requirements; oversees, assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of contract inspectors assigned to such projects; conducts physical inspections, maintains construction records, writes reports and prepares progress estimates for payment purposes; participates in some aspects of construction contract and permit administration. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of college level or vocational course work in pre-engineering, construction management or a related field. Experience in aviation may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. Five years combined experience in construction, general or special inspector work, is required. Previous aviation or transportation experience is desirable. Certification from an accredited construction management or engineering is desirable.
