CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The Chief Development Officer (Assistant Aviation Director) is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and overseeing professional level work directing the activities of divisions which provides a broad range of management, contract administration, facilities asset management, and architectural/engineering services in the development and implementation of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). The incumbent will engage internal and external stakeholders regarding the Department’s strategy, planning, land use, master planning, noise compatibility planning, outreach and related programs, ensure the Aviation Department maintains up-to-date master plans, oversee the budgeting and financing of airport capital projects and federal grant administration and have facility asset management program development and oversight.

AIRPORT CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST
Sikorsky Memorial Airport is a growing, Part 139 certificated airport (currently inactive) undergoing a collaborative effort to modernize and better serve Southern Connecticut. We are currently hiring an Airport Certification Specialist (ASC). The primary functions/duties of the position are described below. 1. Inspect airport facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations related to airports. 2. Implement operational policies/programs. 3. Maintain accurate records and generate reports. 4. Plan, execute and monitor work assignments. 5. Issue Notice to Airman (NOTAMS) as necessary. 6. Coordinate/participate in the airport certification emergency response. 7. Act as a first responder to airport emergencies. 8. Implement, monitor and enforce airport certification programs. 9. Conduct airport surveys/training of airport tenants and employees. 10. Respond to noise complaints. 11. Perform minor maintenance. Other administrative and management tasks may be assigned as appropriate.

AIRPORT OPERATIONS OFFICER
The Operations Officer is responsible for various duties at the airport as directed by operational requirements, while ensuring safety standards and compliance codes are being upheld. This position also ensures compliance with FAA, DOT, local, state, and federal regulations. Update and maintain all required pertinent records on the computer based Airport Operations Daily Log. Maintains the airport safety and security under FAR Part 139 and reporting any discrepancies to the Airport Operations Supervisor. Qualify as an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF), drive and operate specialized ARFF vehicles for response to all aircraft alerts and emergencies. Ability to drive and operate all major airport operations vehicles and snow removal equipment during Winter Snow Operations. Perform tasks at the Snow Command Desk, file Notices to Airmen (NOTAM’s), Airfield Self Inspections, and update airfield conditions reports. Upon qualifying in USDA Wildlife Hazardous Management Training Program, perform wildlife mitigation services at the airport.
