Southport is a not-for-profit property management and development company, located 3 km south of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Operations is responsible for the ongoing operation of the Airport, groundside as well as Capital Planning, Contracting & Construction. This position administers the Property Management, Facility Maintenance and Recreation Departments. The candidate will be self motivated, show strong organization skills, knowledge of Canadian Aviation regulations, Safety Management Systems and Risk Management, and demonstrate ability in the administration of Management team. Skills and Qualifications: Education / experience commensurate with responsibilities, Experience in aviation operations, management and safety, Customer service and business development oriented. AIRPORT OPERATIONS/FIRE FIGHTER 1
This position is an entry to journey level Airport Fire Fighter; exists to provide Airport Maintenance Operations. Will provide some Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services to the Grand Canyon National Park Airport as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)Duties include but are not limited to:Approximately 80% of time required to do airport maintenance operations:** Airport security; inspect and repair airfield lighting systems; signage; weed control and wildlife management; snow removal.** Facilities/housing maintenance such as property and building maintenance, inspections and repairs.** Occasionally provides first responder and firefighting services on any and all emergencies to outlying areas around and near the airport and assists the National Forest fire emergencies. ** Responsible for other airport operational duties as assigned.
