AIRFIELD TECHNICIAN
RMMA is currently seeking an Airfield Technician for a multi-functional role in an organization that thrives on collaboration, vigor, and ever-changing challenges. The position requires a self-starter that brings organization, positive energy, and motivation for growth. The Airfield Technician will perform airfield maintenance on airport facilities by mowing, cleaning and repair work on all runways, taxiways, perimeter fence and access roads, storm water systems and drainage, pavement marking, asphalt/concrete repairs and installation, and crack sealing in order to maintain FAA and Part 139 standards. Other responsibilities include operating intermediate and heavy equipment used in airport maintenance for snow and ice control/removal operations. This position is also responsible for maintaining records and preparing reports related to airfield maintenance and repair activities. The Technician will also enforce safety rules and regulations and is responsible for work progressing according to project plans and specifications.

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
This is professional work in the design, construction, inspection, and management of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority’s (JAA’s) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Jacksonville International Airport (JIA), JAXEX (formerly Craig Airport), Herlong, and Cecil Airport. The work requires thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practices, applicable laws, environmental regulations and building codes. Contacts require skill in understanding and supervising staff/ consultants, coordinating engineering functions and representing the department. The work is performed following defined management/ engineering principles and involves situations which require the use of judgement in search of solutions to significant matters affecting the department and the Authority’s infrastructure. The work is performed in an office environment but is occasionally performed in a field setting involving exposure to unfavorable climatic conditions and other hazards. The work is performed under administrative direction subject to operating plans and functional policies, and is reviewed for feasibility and effectiveness in meeting objectives.
