ASE AVIATION DIRECTOR
Reporting to the Pitkin County Manager, the Aviation Director is a working director, responsible for the strategic leadership of the airport team, administration, operations, financial management, air service, business development, capital planning, property development, facility management, community engagement, and services supporting the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. Through the support of directors, managers and supervisors, the Aviation Director has oversight of finance, security and construction, operations, safety, aircraft rescue firefighting, and facilities with 41 FTEs and seasonal personnel. As Aviation Director, this person is expected to be an ethically minded individual who can quickly establish trust, build relationships internally and externally, and lead through compassion, collaboration and a genuine care for people, teams and community. DEVELOPMENT AND PROJECTS INTERN
This is a highly structured and selective internship program designed to give the incumbent experience in airport planning, engineering, environmental compliance, government affairs, grants, and construction management. Work will include assisting the Development and Projects Manager oversee construction of a $100M terminal expansion program. The incumbent will be expected to work full time with changing schedules and perform rigorous self-study of assigned materials and projects. AIRPORT COORDINATOR - BADGE & ID
Under general direction, responsible for performing supervisory and administrative professional work coordinating projects and activities between divisions, departments, public agencies, and private sector representatives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Directly supports, maintain, updates the Airport Security Program (ASP), policies, or other security documents to ensure compliance with 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1500 series, Security Directives, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Ensures daily compliance with airport security regulations. Performs assessments, investigations, training, audits and immediately initiates corrective actions for any instance of non-compliance. Assists with administration and monitoring of various security systems and programs to ensure continue compliance with CFR requirements and the ASP. Submit work orders for system repairs and coordinate with security integrator. Performs specialized tasks to review/process security badge applicants in accordance with established ASP, local and federal regulations and TSA directives. Plans and conducts the annual Aviation Security (AVSEC) Contingency Plan Exercise.
