DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CAPITAL ASSETS AND TECHNOLOGY
How would you like to work for a progressive, well-funded multi-modal transit agency in the beautiful U.S. Northwest? Sound Transit’s commuter rail, light rail, and bus network is rapidly expanding as voters have passed initiatives totaling over $75B. The agency is in the initial stages of implementing the most recent initiative. With $53B approved, its 25-year-plan will result in new stations opening in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2030, 2031, 2035, 2036, 2039, and 2041. KL2 has been retained to fill this position on behalf of Sound Transit. Working closely with Sound Transit’s executive team, the Deputy Executive Director of Capital Assets and Technology will play a key role in defining/executing Seattle’s Comprehensive Regional Transit Vision. Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, the winning candidate will be responsible for developing regional transit corridors and executing Sound Transit’s capital program (including facilities construction, rolling stock acquisition, and systems development and implementation).

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS SUPPORT SERVICE

Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, the winning candidate will apply financial and performance analysis acumen in directing Sound Transit’s regional data systems operation; ensuring that Operations Business Management and support services meet agency standards for all modes; developing and executing a plan that optimizes internal/external data collection, analysis, and reporting; and leading the development of all regional service plans. The winning candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills, as well as extensive multi-modal transit or large corporate entity knowledge. He/she will have experience leading teams in fulfilling data management objectives and will provide data management and warehousing leadership to the Executive Team.

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES AND SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE

This position requires a Bachelors in transportation, public administration, facilities management, engineering, or a related field; eight years of experience managing operations and maintenance for a large, complex organization; and three years of staff supervisory, budgetary, and management responsibility (preferably in a transportation-related environment with multiple facilities and office locations). Rail and multi-modal systems experience will be highly valued, and an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. AIRSIDE OPERATIONS AGENT
The Airside Operations Agent, under general supervision of the Director of Operations, monitors and coordinates all operational activity occurring in the Airside Operations areas to ensure compliance with FAA Part 139, TSA 1542, and Airport regulations and policies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting daily inspections to include runways, taxiways, safety areas, ramp areas, and perimeter fence line, initiate corrective action as necessary; conducts inspections of airside areas for aesthetics, safety, security' general conditions and takes appropriate action, to correct unsuitable conditions(i.e. initiate maintenance work orders); Mitigating wildlife hazards by conducting wildlife dispersal activities; maintaining various wildlife devices; and acquiring proper permits for wildlife depredation, etc.;maintains accurate airfield inspection and wildlife mitigation records; Ensuring airport compliance with Federal Aviation Administration Part 139 and Department of Homeland Security-TSA CFR 1542 regulations; Keeping current on existing and new federal, state and local requirements. SENIOR AIRPORT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER
Client focused-Works well in a team environment to provide the best possible solutions for our clients. Designs and develops plan drawings, including the development of preliminary/schematic design to final drawings utilizing proficiencies in AutoCAD. Organizes and conducts engineering investigations. Outlines and prepares engineering reports working under the periodic review of a more experienced professional. Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; prepares records and progress reports defining construction progress; observes construction procedures under the guidance of a more experienced professional and evaluates the results from quality control testing. Design of airfield lighting systems/NAVAIDs and airport building systems. Prepares preliminary cost and material quantity estimates. Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others. Coordinates with other disciplines as required. Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
